Clint Reilly Cause of Death – The San Francisco Bay Area community is mourning the passing of Clint Reilly, a respected philanthropist, community leader, and longtime supporter of Catholic education whose dedication to helping young people created opportunities for thousands of students.
Clint’s commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on Sacred Heart Cathedral and Catholic high school education throughout the Bay Area. He was remembered as a man whose generosity, vision, and belief in giving young people opportunities helped transform countless lives.
In 2008, Clint and his wife, Janet Reilly, founded the Bay Scholars program, an initiative created to provide students with access to college preparatory education and future opportunities. Sacred Heart Cathedral was among the first partners in the program, and through the years, more than 250 of its students benefited from the scholarship support.
The Bay Scholars program has provided more than $14 million in scholarship assistance to deserving students across the Bay Area, helping many young people pursue educational goals that may not have otherwise been possible.
A recent Sacred Heart Cathedral graduate reflected on Clint’s influence and the opportunity he helped provide, sharing gratitude for the chance to pursue a meaningful future because someone believed in giving students a chance.
Sacred Heart Cathedral President-Emeritus John Scudder ’73 also honored Clint’s dedication to helping others, remembering him as someone whose heart was always focused on creating opportunities for young people, especially those without the financial resources to pursue their dreams.
“Clint’s heart was always in the right place, especially when it came to helping others,” Scudder said, highlighting the lasting influence of Clint’s work through Bay Scholars and his commitment to Catholic education.
Beyond his professional achievements, Clint Reilly will be remembered for his compassion, generosity, and belief that investing in young people could create a stronger future for the entire community.
As family, friends, and the Bay Area community mourn his passing, many continue to reflect on the lives he touched and the opportunities he helped create. His legacy will continue through the students, families, and communities that benefited from his kindness and dedication.
Sacred Heart Cathedral extends its prayers and condolences to the Reilly family during this difficult time.
May Clint Reilly rest in peace. His commitment to service and his impact on future generations will not be forgotten.
