The Ewing community continues to honor the memory of Kimberly Johnson, who passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 64 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her passing left an immeasurable void in the lives of her family, friends, church community, and everyone who was blessed to know her.
Kimberly was the devoted wife of Delbert Johnson for 38 years and the loving mother of eight children. As the heart of the Johnson family, she was known for leading with unwavering love, wisdom, and strength. Affectionately described as both the “keeper of hearts” and the “keeper of calendars,” she balanced firm guidance with unconditional compassion, always offering encouragement, thoughtful advice, and heartfelt support.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1961 to Clair Damon Boggs and Betty Jo Jordan Boggs, Kim was the third of four children. After graduating from Batavia High School, she studied architecture and design at the University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College.
Together with her husband, she built several successful business ventures, including County Concrete in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, which became the cornerstone of their entrepreneurial journey.
Outside of her professional life, Kim was a faithful member of Community Family Church in Independence, Kentucky. She dedicated much of her life to serving others and sharing her Christian faith, particularly with children, whom she loved teaching and encouraging. She also found joy in gardening, preserving food, crafting, and embracing farm life, where her creativity and nurturing spirit flourished.
Kimberly Johnson is survived by her beloved husband, Delbert Johnson; her children, Billie Jo Wood, Dallas Johnson, Farmer Johnson, John Johnson, Sam Johnson, Danielle Johnson, Gavin Johnson, and JB Johnson; and her sisters, Bobbi Bryant and Debbie Reardon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clair Damon Boggs and Betty Jo Jordan Boggs, and her brother, John Boggs.
A funeral service celebrating her life was held on January 9, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Bates officiating. She was laid to rest at Elizaville Cemetery, with her sons and son-in-law serving as pallbearers.
Kimberly Johnson will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, faithful servant of God, successful businesswoman, and compassionate friend. Her legacy of faith, perseverance, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to inspire her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
