
The family of Sidney Lea Urquhart has announced with heavy hearts her sudden passing, alongside her beloved boyfriend, Hunter Green, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Grand Manan, New Brunswick.
Born on July 19, 2007, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Sidney was the cherished daughter of Gary Urquhart (Gail) and Tracy Foster (Carter). Her sudden loss has left her family, friends, and the Grand Manan community heartbroken as they remember a young woman whose spirit brought joy and light to everyone around her.
Sidney was known for her vibrant personality, boundless creativity, and compassionate heart. She embraced life with authenticity and enthusiasm, bringing color into the world through her love of fashion, music, laughter, and artistic expression.
Growing up on Grand Manan Island, Sidney formed deep friendships that became lifelong bonds. She treasured the close-knit community that helped shape her into the caring and loyal person she became.
During her school years at Grand Manan Community School, Sidney enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball, traveling with her teams, and creating cherished memories with classmates, teammates, and coaches.
After graduating, Sidney pursued her passion for beauty and creativity by attending Infinite Beauty Academy, where she enrolled in the Cosmetology program. There, her artistic talents flourished as she experimented with innovative and colorful hair techniques, often delighting family members who happily became her “guinea pigs” for her creative hair designs.
Sidney’s larger-than-life personality made her unforgettable to those who knew her. She was celebrated for her wit, humor, kindness, and ability to make others feel accepted and loved.
Whether exploring new places with friends and family, listening to music, or simply sharing laughter with loved ones, Sidney found joy in every moment. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel across Canada and beyond, visiting places such as California, Florida, Prince Edward Island, and the Grand Canyon.
Though her time on earth was far too short, Sidney leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories and a legacy of love, creativity, and joy.
Sidney is survived by her parents, Gary Urquhart (Gail) and Tracy Foster (Carter); her sister, Taylar Urquhart (Graeme); her step-brothers, Colton (Emily) Jardine, Nick (Coreena-Jo) Jardine, Justin Gillespie, and Ryder Foster; her grandparents, Mike and Mary Caldwell, and Larry and Bertha Urquhart; her uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who adored her.
Visitation for Sidney Lea Urquhart will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A celebration of Sidney’s life will take place at Lighthouse Church on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., followed by burial at Maple Grove Cemetery.
